Carling and Jay became fast friends while working in the hospitality industry years ago, both sharing a passion for top-tier service, client relationships and the mountain lifestyle. Finding their way to Slifer Smith & Frampton Real Estate was a natural progression, as loyalty to local brands and community involvement are values they live by. These guiding principles, paired with their work ethic and tenacity have contributed to their success, which is shown by closing over 78 transactions for more than $71,000,000 in sales volume since 2018. By utilizing cutting-edge technologies, and implementing unique print and web-based marketing strategies, their clients benefit from a hands-on experience that is unmatched. As a team, they thrive off of guiding people through their real estate journey and introducing them to the incredible Vail Valley lifestyle that makes this such a special place to call home.
Carling moved to the Vail Valley in the Fall of 2009 from the North End of Boston where she worked in finance at Morgan Stanley. Originally from North Conway, NH, which was recently voted the #1 ski town in the USA, you could say the mountain lifestyle is ingrained in her. Early successes in ski racing led Carling to attend Holderness School, an elite New England prep school in New Hampshire. From there Carling received a BA in Political Science and Economics at St. Lawrence University. Shortly after moving to Vail, CO, Carling began her career with Slifer Smith & Frampton Real Estate where she spent her first five years working in corporate marketing, gaining invaluable advertising and marketing expertise.
Carling lives in Singletree with her Husband Dane, 1-year-old Daughter Delaney, and two black lab ladies, Milly and Sadie. She loves skiing, hiking, floating the Colorado, happy hour, on-mountain picnics, live music, and Colorado bluebird days!
Born and raised in Minnesota, Jay moved to the Vail Valley in 2008 after falling in love with skiing in the Colorado mountains during childhood ski trips. Originally intending to be in the Valley “only one ski season,” he quickly realized his love for the outdoor adventures that the area has to offer and decided to make it his permanent home. It was the typical, “come for the winter, but stay for the summers" situation.
Jay takes full advantage of the mountain lifestyle by skiing, biking, camping, hiking, and golfing with his family, friends, and the many visitors coming to the area. When not working with his Buyers and Sellers, or playing in the mountains, he can be found spending time with his wife Kara, his sons Ryker, Ford, and Dax plus their dog Kirby.
